DENTAL TREATMENTS

These may include fillings, crowns (small or large cavities), extractions, space maintainers, cosmetic dentistry for children, tongue and lip tie procedures, sports guards or fluoride treatment.

SEALANTS

Using dental sealant is an effective strategy that seals and protects the deep grooves of the teeth, preventing food and bacteria from being trapped on the hard-to-clean surfaces of the teeth.

SMALL CAVITIES

If the cavity is small enough, silver diamine fluoride (SDF) can be painted onto a tooth to stop the progression of a cavity. Other small cavities are generally treated with white composite resin restorations.

LARGE CAVITIES

When a cavity reaches a certain size and depth, baby teeth root canal treatment (pulpotomy) or crowns may be needed. Dr. Fran offers both options of stainless-steel crowns and white-zirconia crowns.

LIP AND TONGUE TIE

We use a state-of-the-art tissue laser to release both lip and tongue ties to improve nursing and help correct speech difficulties.

SPORTS GUARD

Any child who participates in a contact sport (football, basketball, hockey, lacrosse, soccer, cycling, skateboarding, etc.) will benefit from talking to Dr. Fran about using a sports guard. Even if your child is playing just for fun, a sports guard can help prevent serious dental injuries during sports.

LAUGHING GAS

Nitrous oxide – or laughing gas – is a safe and effective agent that can help your child relax for minor dental procedures. It’s administered with a mask that goes over your child’s nose and wears off quickly so your child can get back to having fun as soon as possible.

ORAL CONSCIOUS SEDATION

When songs, TV and laughing have all failed to calm your little one, oral conscious sedation can be an option. It’s given in a liquid form and allows your child to fully relax. While some children may fall asleep or become drowsy, they remain conscious throughout the procedure.

GENERAL ANESTHESIA

For children with acute dental anxiety who have to undergo extensive treatments, we offer general anesthesia. We work with highly skilled anesthesiologists to safely send your child to sleep for dental treatments. Your child will have no pain or memory of the procedure.
